Born in Dijkot district Lyallpur, Tariq Gujjar now resides in Layyah. The ancestors of Tariq Gujjar belonged to Thathlan district Hoshiarpur from where they migrated to Lyallpur after partition. His poetry is the reflection of generational trauma that emanates from partition and subsequent migration his family had to go through. .
