Nasreen Anjum Bhatti

1943—2016   Along with being a poet, Nasreen Anjum Bhatti was also a feminst voice who was very vocal about patriarchy and socio-political structures associated with it. She was born in Quetta and spent some of his time as a youngster in Sindh too. Later on, she moved to Lahore from where she graduated from Oriental college, Lahore in Urdu literature. She also did one masters in Punjabi from the same institution. Her poetry belongs to the revolutionary tradition of Punjabi poetry, through which she put up a resistance against patriarchal society that begets many exploitative structures in a society.
