Ali Arshad Meer _{1951 – 2008}

Ali Arshad Meer was a Punjabi poet from chishtian Punjab whose work has been translated into Urdu and English Also. Due to his mastery in poetic verse, he is also called the "Homer" of Punjab. His poetry is dedicated towards the revolutionary cause in Pakistan and he emerged as the poet of the oppressed classes. He was a Teacher by profession while he also remained associated with Mazdoor Kisan Party in his lifetime.
