Khawaja Ghulam Farid
Khwaja Ghulam Farid was 19th century Sufi poet known best for his contributions in Punjabi poetic tradition of Sufism, which was done through writing Kafis, a famous people-oriented genre of Punjabi poetry. He has also written many books in Urdu and Persian. Farid belonged to Chishtia order of Sufis in sub-continent. Born in Chacharan, a town which lays besides River Indus, he also breathed his last there. His tomb is in Mithan Kot, Punjab. His major composition in Punjabi is Diwan e Farid.
